About
I am a researcher from Bangladesh working on public policy, governance and the rights of persons with disabilities. Since May 2025 I have been a Research Fellow at Bangla Academy, where I am conducting an empirical study of the role of expert knowledge in the policy formulation process in Bangladesh.
I studied Government and Politics at Jahangirnagar University, where I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees. As a visually impaired person, I know how much education, technology and public life can offer when they are accessible, and how much is lost when they are not. That experience shapes my advocacy, my research and the audio games I build for blind and visually impaired players.
My goal is to contribute to public policy in Bangladesh through research, university teaching and public engagement.
Education
I hold a Master of Social Sciences (MSS, 2022 to 2023) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS, 2018 to 2022) from the Department of Government and Politics at Jahangirnagar University.
Experience
Since May 2025 I have been a Research Fellow at Bangla Academy, working on an empirical study of the role of expert knowledge in the policy formulation process in Bangladesh.
Since July 2026 I have also been a Research Assistant in the Disability Rights Research Initiative of the Department of International Relations at Jahangirnagar University. The initiative is carried out with Sightsavers' Equal Bangladesh campaign, with the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) as implementing partner.
Before that, I taught English at Dalal Bazar N.K. High School from May to September 2024, and I worked as a Braille proofreader at Innovation Garage Limited from November to December in 2020 and again in 2021. I also work as a freelance content writer.
Leadership and advocacy
From September 2024 to September 2025 I was the initiator and chief coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Visually Impaired Students' Movement, which campaigned for the rights and inclusion of visually impaired students. Following the movement's meetings with the Ministry of Public Administration, the ministry issued a circular specifying the job categories reserved for candidates with disabilities.
From May 2025 to February 2026 I was the founder and president of Inclusive Jahangirnagar, a campus organisation for students with disabilities at Jahangirnagar University. It works on four pillars: education, sports, culture and empowerment.
I also founded an initiative that supports marginalised and rural students in Bangladesh through online classes, competitions, and training in leadership, communication and language skills. In 2014 I was the convenor of the general knowledge competition of Dalal Bazar Integrated Education for Visually Impaired Children, in which more than 20 schools and over 1,000 students took part.
Achievements and debate
In 2024 I was Prime Minister of the finalist team at the NASPAA International Simulation Competition. I debated at the Students For Liberty tournament arranged by DFIR in 2023 and at the tournament of the Physically-challenged Development Foundation in 2022. I served as Vice President (Debate) of SRBM in 2023, and I am a former Executive Member of the Jahangirnagar University Debate Organisation (JUDO).
Skills and languages
Bangla is my mother tongue, and I use English at an advanced level. I program in Python to build audio games and accessibility tools, and I also work with Linux server administration, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
My papers and talks are listed on the Research page.
